The Louisiana Ragin’ Cajuns rebounded in grand fashion in this past Saturday’s 40-24 victory over in state rival ULM. More than 2000 Cajun fans traveled to Monroe to witness UL’s most complete victory.
Terrence Broadway completed 23-of-32 passes for 373 yards and four touchdowns, while rushing 14 times for 87 yard and a score on his way to the Sun Belt Conference offensive player of the week award.
The offense possessed the ball for nearly 41 of the 60-minute contest, including a 99-yard drive, which ate up nine and a half minutes of clock, spanning the third and fourth quarter.
The UL defense held the Warhawks to less than 100 yards rushing and caused two turnovers.
Saturday’s win places UL in fourth place in the Sun Belt standings, with three conference games remaining on the schedule.
ULM remains in the lead for the conference title; however, the Warhawks may need to find a way to win the conference without starting quarterback Kolton Browning. Browning suffered a potentially season-ending injury, breaking his foot after a third down pressure from Cajun defensive lineman Coridan Hagans.
Louisiana head coach Mark Hudspeth commented, “This was a big win for us as it gets us back on track in the league race. There’s still a lot of season left to play.”
This weekend, the Cajuns travel to Gainesville, Fla. to take on No. 7 Florida on Saturday, Nov. 10. Kickoff is set for 11:21 a.m. (CST) on the SEC Network.
