1 injured in overnight stabbing

On Friday at approximately 1:30 a.m., Lafayette police responded to an area hospital regarding a stabbing victim. According to the victim, he was at a parking lot in the 1100 block of Mudd Avenue when he had an altercation with an unknown black male. The suspect pulled a knife and stabbed the victim in the arm and back during the scuffle. The man then ran from the scene on foot.

The victim, a 21-year-old male of Lafayette, drove himself to an area hospital where he remains in stable condition.

Detectives are asking anyone with information about the incident or the identity of the suspect to call the Lafayette Police Department or Crime Stoppers at 232-TIPS.
