On Monday at approximately 11:20 pm, Lafayette Police responded to a local hospital regarding a gunshot victim. The victim, a 26 year old male of Lafayette, advised officers that he was riding a bicycle near the intersection of Bossier Street and St. Antoine Street. He was approached by black male dressed all in black with a handgun. The suspect shot the victim in the calve and demand his money. The suspect was given an undisclosed amount of cash and fled the area. The victim was transported to the hospital by a friend for his injuries and later released.
Detectives are asking anyone with information about the incident or the identity of the suspect to call the Lafayette Police Department or Crime Stoppers at 232-TIPS.
