With the two year anniversary of the crisis on the coast next month BP has settled their lawsuit out of court.
The trial had been set for today but a federal judge in New Orleans said BP and a committee representing plaintiffs had reached an agreement over the weekend.
The plaintiffs are suing over the explosion on the deepwater horizon oil rig in the Gulf of Mexico in 2010, which killed 11-workers and spilled more than 4-million barrels of oil into the gulf.
The agreement will be filed with the court for approval.
Experts say the settlement may not mean the end of lawsuits for BP.
