20-year-old Specialist Steven L. Dupont from Lafayette was killed in Afghanistan during an explosion.

Dupont was a graduate of Comeaux High School, where he was a member of the R.O.T.C. and joined the U.S. Army after graduation.

Funeral arrangements are pending.
