A new Louisiana business in Zachary is expected to create about 60 new direct jobs within the year and even more than that over time.

Construction on a new galvanizing plant began in early November. The company called Great Southern Galvanizing will invest millions of dollars in the community and surrounding areas.  It will pay an average of $15 an hour to employees.

The plant should be up and running by November of 2011.
