Although the University of Louisiana-Lafayette  football team has had a tough time on the field this year, the UL pride of Acadiana marching band has had a great season.

In a surprise presentation, the UL band awarded the Music Spirit Award to UL President Dr. Joseph Savoie. The ceremony took place at Martin Hall on the university campus.

Officials report the entire band was there to salute the award winner while playing the UL fight song and the classic song "Respect."
