It was an exciting day for the University of Louisiana-Lafayette community as a new head football coach was officially announced.

At Tuesday morning's press conference, the university introduced new head football coach Mark Hudspeth. Hudspeth will go in the books as UL's 25th head coach. The 42-year-old coach comes from Mississippi State and has 19 years coaching experience. Hudspeth also spent 9 years as head coach at the Univeristy of North Alabama.

Coach Hudspeth says he wants to hit the ground running to make up for lost time in the recruiting wars.
