Selling almost sixty king cakes daily

For their first Mardi Gras season Southside Bakery at their new location continues to sell their famous, braided king cakes.  Southside Bakery's king cakes are different from others around the area in the way they make the king cake with a cinnamon smear and variety of different fillings, but that's not the only thing that sets this bakery apart from the rest.

"We just pretty much top quality.  We do everything the same every time, you're not going to come here today and eat something and come here two weeks later and eat the same thing and it's going to taste different.  It'll be the same every time," says Bobby Menard, baker at Southside Bakery.

For their first Mardi Gras season Southside is selling around sixty king cakes a day, and as for next year, the bakers are preparing to make and sell even more king cakes.
