Miley Cyrus swings by 'SNL' for 2014 tour reveal
(CNN) — Leave it to Miley Cyrus to know precisely how to promote her upcoming tour.
The 20-year-old pop star made a surprise appearance on "Saturday Night Live" over the weekend to announce her 2014 tour plans, stealing a little of Edward Norton's hosting thunder in the process.
Cyrus was in the building, along with frequent host Alec Baldwin, under the guise of giving first-timer Norton some hosting tips. (She did nail her hosting gig for "SNL" a few weeks back.)
But, "real quick," she snuck in a PSA: "I’d just like to announce to all my fans that I’m about to be going on tour," she said, as Baldwin then took the opportunity to promote his own new gig. “And I’d like to announce to Miley’s fans that my new talk show is on MSNBC Fridays at 10 o’clock," he followed, because why not?
In case you haven't been able to tell, Cyrus has been having "the best time ever" lately.
"Everything’s falling into place like it’s supposed to. Even people who want to hate on me, they can’t even shut down the fact that I’m literally what everyone is talking about," Cyrus tells Cosmopolitan in its December issue.
She does have a point, but the star is still hesitant to proclaim her top dog status.
"I don’t want to say that I’m on top right now I feel like I’m kind of an underdog in a cool way," she continues. "It’s almost punk rock to like me because it’s not the right thing to do. Like, society wants to shut me down."
Not that she cares. At the moment the newly single star, who recently ended her engagement to actor Liam Hemsworth, has a pretty singular focus.
“I need to treat my music like a relationshipg ive it my time and all the attention it deserves and that’s my main love right now," Cyrus says. "This is the best time of my life. I’m not going to look back on it and be like, ‘I wish I hadn’t been dwelling over a breakup,’ you know? Because that’s not what God wants my life to be about right now. God wants my life to be about being successful and being happy and blessing other people and being blessed.”
