A former Livingston Parish Sheriff’s Deputy has been indicted on four counts of criminal sexual conduct with a minor, announced Attorney General Buddy Caldwell.

Clarence “Jeremy” Brister, 37, of Denham Springs, was indicted by a Livingston Parish grand jury on three counts of indecent behavior with a juvenile and one count of molestation of a juvenile. Prior to his arrest in January, Brister had been a deputy with the Livingston Parish Sheriff’s office for 18 months. He was immediately fired upon his arrest.

Each count of indecent behavior with a juvenile carries the possible sentence of up to seven years in prison.

Additionally, Brister is facing a sentence of up to ten years in prison for the molestation charge. If convicted, both charges would require Brister to register as a sex offender. Brister’s arraignment is set for August 29.
