French Ambassador Visits Louisiana

For the past two days, the French Ambassador to the United States, Francois Delattre made a high profile trip touring Acadiana.

While he was here he was able to get a taste of the area's unique culture.

It is no secret the people of France and Louisiana share a common culture and language.

The Ambassador's tour of the area had many highlights including his honoring a World War Two veteran in Leroy yesterday and his visit in St.Martinville early this morning.

Before his flight left today, the Ambassador had a meeting with the UL President and University officials.

Today's meeting with UL was a presentation on the Univeristy's international exchange and research programs at the lite center.

The Ambassador felt the meeting's during his trip were very beneficial and that he and francehas a special connection with louisiana.
