Law Barring Sex Offenders From Social Networking Sites Goes Into Effect

Wednesday, August 1, 2012 - 8:35pm

A law barring registered sex offenders from social networking sites is among more than five hundred new laws going into effect today.

The legislation was created to protect kids from online predators but some parents wonder just how much good it will do.

The Attorney General's office says it could be difficult to enforce but he says it's just one more tool to work with.

The first time someone is caught breaking this law they'll face up to ten years in prison.

The second time is up to twenty.

Yeah OK. I support this to an extent but how the heck can they really enforce this. Who's going to work and spend time enforcing it? Pay me, pay me good, I'll do it.
