New construction projects announced to begin across Louisiana

Governor Bobby Jindal announced millions in Capital Outlay cash-line-of-credit funding was approved for infrastructure and construction projects today by the State Bond Commission.

Governor Jindal said, “These investments touch every corner of the state and will help improve the learning environment for students at colleges and universities, reform the way we deliver health care services, make our roads safer for families, and make Louisiana more attractive to companies who want to expand or invest in our state."

The projects include:

· $30 million in Priority 5 to Priority 1 funding for University Medical Center in Orleans Parish;

· $10.375 million in Priority 5 to Priority 1 funding for Jefferson Parish Business Park: Science and Technology Academy and Conference Center in Jefferson Parish;

· $9.155 million in Priority 5 to Priority 1 funding for Louisiana Animal Disease Diagnostic Laboratory, Planning and Construction in East Baton Rouge Parish;

· $8.27 million in Priority 5 to Priority 1 funding for LSU Agricultural Center Animal and Food Science Facilities Renovations and Modernizations, Phase II, Planning and Construction in East Baton Rouge Parish;

· $7.695 million in Priority 5 to Priority 1 funding for the Morganza to Gulf of Mexico Flood Control Feasibility Study, Planning, Design, Right of Way and Construction of Levees, Floodgates and other Flood Control Systems in Ascension, Assumption, Iberia, Iberville, Lafourche, Pointe Coupee, St. Martin, St. Mary, Terrebonne, and West Baton Rouge Parish;

· $7.4 million in Priority 5 to Priority 1 funding for the Nicholls State University Culinary Arts Instruction Building, Planning and Construction in Lafourche Parish;

· $6 million in Priority 5 to Priority 1 funding for I-12 O’Neal Lane to Walker/ Satsuma Widening, Planning and Construction in East Baton Rouge and Livingston Parish;

· $5 million in Priority 5 to Priority 1 funding for New Hospital and Medical Office Building, Real Estate Acquisition, Planning and Construction in St. Bernard Parish;

· $4.71 million in Priority 5 to Priority 1 funding for a Multi-Purpose Recreational and Achievement Center in Jefferson Parish;

· $4.375 million in Priority 5 to Priority 1 funding for LSU Baton Rouge South Campus Land Acquisition in East Baton Rouge Parish;

· $4.1 million in Priority 5 to Priority 1 funding for Juban Road (LA 1026) Widening (I-12 to US 190) in Livingston Parish;

· $3.535 million in Priority 5 to Priority 1 funding for Bayou Segnette State Park Land Acquisition, Additional Cabins, and Planning and Construction in Jefferson Parish;

· $3.5 million in Priority 5 to Priority 1 funding for Community Center – Phase 2, Event Center, Planning and Construction in Calcasieu Parish;

· $3.24 million in Priority 5 to Priority 1 funding for Livingston Place (Metairie Road to Loumor Avenue) in Jefferson Parish;

· $3 million in Priority 5 to Priority 1 funding for New Hangar Construction in Calcasieu Parish;

· $2.88 million in Priority 5 to Priority 1 funding for New Emergency Generator and Chillers, UMC, Planning and Construction in Lafayette Parish;

· $2.5 million in Priority 5 to Priority 1 funding for Audubon 2020 Exhibits in Orleans Parish;

· $2.25 million in Priority 5 to Priority 1 funding for Fire Marshal, Health Department Violations, Supplemental, Planning and Construction in West Feliciana Parish;

· $2 million in Priority 5 to Priority 1 funding for ADA Upgrades Campus-Wide, Planning and Construction at McNeese State University in Calcasieu Parish;

· $1.74 million in Priority 5 to Priority 1 funding for Wet-Lab Business Incubators, Planning and Construction in Caddo, East Baton Rouge, and Orleans Parish;

· $1.35 million in Priority 5 to Priority 1 funding for Globalplex Rail Siding in St. John the Baptist Parish;

· $1.3 million in Priority 5 to Priority 1 funding for New Westbank YMCA in Orleans Parish;

· $1.25 million in Priority 5 to Priority 1 funding for Emergency Preparedness Building, Planning and Construction in Jefferson Parish;

· $1 million in Priority 5 to Priority 1 funding for Eastern New Orleans Hospital, Planning, Design, and Construction in Orleans Parish;

· $990,000 in Priority 5 to Priority 1 funding for I-10 North Frontage Road, Planning and Construction in Lafayette Parish;

· $700,000 in Priority 5 to Priority 1 funding for Peters Road Bridge and Extension, Planning and Construction in Jefferson and Plaquemines Parish;

· $500,000 in Priority 5 to Priority 1 funding for Behrman Park Improvements, New Soccer Facility, Planning and Construction, Master Planning in Orleans Parish;

· $500,000 in Priority 5 to Priority 1 funding for Upper Kraak Ditch Drainage, Pump Station, Pump Replacement, and Generator Installation, in Jefferson Parish;

· $500,000 in Priority 5 to Priority 1 funding for Rail Loading Facility at the Agri-Industrial Park at Lacassine, Planning and Construction in Jefferson Parish;

· $500,000 in Priority 5 to Priority 1 funding for Multi Purpose Building, Planning and Construction in Calcasieu Parish;

· $400,000 in Priority 5 to Priority 1 funding for Water Tower Construction in St. Tammany Parish;

· $250,000 in Priority 5 to Priority 1 funding for New Police Department Headquarters and Sub District #2 Fire Station in East Baton Rouge Parish;

· $200,000 in Priority 5 to Priority 1 funding for LA Hwy 20 (N. Canal Blvd) Widening, Planning and Construction in Lafourche Parish;
