Shunick Suspect Goes Faces Grand Jury

Thirty three year old Brandon Lavergne the man accused of kidnapping the missing UL Lafayette student  will go before a grand jury on July 18th.

Lavergne is facing kidnapping and first degree murder charges.

A grand jury will decide if there is enough evidence for those charges to stick.

Remember police still have not found Mickey's body yet that's why people who know Mickey continue to look for her.

It's been a massive search effort since may 19th.

That's when Mickey didn't show up for her brothers graduation and people knew something was wrong.

Mickey's friends and family say they won't stop looking for Mickey... until they bring her home.

Local law enforcement officers promise the same thing.

Brandon Lavergne was arrested last week at the intersection of Interstates ten and 49 here in Lafayette.

Lavergne is a convicted sex offender and already served a ten year jail sentence.
