Tickfaw man locked up for allegedly stabbing his brother to death

A man is behind bars for allegedly stabbing his brother to death.

The Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff’s Office arrested Asua Bartolo, 61, of Tickfaw for Second-Degree Murder. That’s because they believe he responsible for stabbing his brother, Elias Bulnez Azua, 55, to death during an incident that happened on Sunday, July 22.

The stabbing happened in the early morning on Sunday. Deputies were called to the home on Gregg Drive in Hammond and found the victim dead from several stab wounds.

Bartolo was identified as a suspect and was arrested today at his home in Tickfaw. Detectives say the investigation is in the preliminary stage and they have not yet identified a motive for the stabbing.
