Acadiana Center for the Arts is expanding

Construction is moving quickly in the acadiana area, causing parts of downtown to be closed off.

The former LBA building, which is now known as the Acadiana Center for the Arts, is expanding.

The renovation will include a 300 seat state of the art theatre, equipped with a skylight and glass acoustic wall, which will allow people walking downtown to get a peek at the performances.

Drivers in the 100 block of Vermilion Street downtown will have to take a detour for the next couple of weeks during construction.
