Southeastern swings into town looking to take a bite out of UL
UL had a sloppy start to the season against Nebraska. They stumbled out of the opening weekend with a 1-2-1 record and a bitter taste in their mouths.
UL had chances to put Nebraska away but couldn't get it done at the plate in key situations.
Wednesday night, UL welcomed the Lions of Southeastern University to "Tigue" Moore Field. Head Coach Tony Robichaux wants more timely hitting out of his team but it was the pitching that didn't get it done tonight. UL allowed 8 runs in 5 innings to the Lions.
The bats weren't bad. UL scratched across 5 in the first 6 innings including a bomb to leftfield by first baseman Scott Hawkins. The problem was leaving runners in scoring position. UL left the bases loaded a few times in this game.
UL falls to Southeastern 9-7. Next up, the Cajuns hit the road for the first time in 2009 this weekend when they visit Southern Miss.
