UL falls at home to FIU in the first round of the Sun Belt Conference Tournament
The Ragin Cajuns' season was slipping away.
UL trailed by double digits late in the second half and it looked as if their season would come to an end. But the Cajuns fought back.
Tyren Johnson knocked down a three pointer from the top of the key inside of 3 minutes to cut the FIU lead to just 5 points. UL would whittle the lead down to 2 but FIU hit free throws down the stretch and the Cajuns missed a last second 3-pointer to send the game to overtime.
After the game, the players and coaches knew they missed an opportunity. UL owned the #8 seed and lost to a lower seeded team at home in back-to-back seasons.
UL finishes the season 10-20 after getting bounced from the first round of the conference tournament for the thrid straight year.
