UL needs to buckle down if they want to stay in Lafayette for round one of the conference tournament
You’ve heard of March Madness…but don’t forget about Frantic February.
UL's Ragin Cajuns men's hoops squad has a tough task the next two weeks. If they want to stay in town for round one of the Sun Belt Conference tournament, they'll need to win "two of the last four games", according to Head Coach Robert Lee. Two wins will help the team feel more comfortable with their chances of hosting a tournament game.
Odds are, they'll need a home game. UL has just ONE road win this season. That was over a month ago. UL hasn't posted a one win road season since 1994-95, when they went 1-and-12.
The Cajuns try to pick up road win #2 tomorrow night in Denver. UL took down Denver back in January but needed two overtimes to crank out a 1-point win.
A win this time over the Pioneers could go a long way. Both teams own a 6-and-8 conference record.
The top three seeds in the conference get first round byes. Seeds 4 thru 8 get home games in round one, while seeds 9-13 hit the road. UL is currently the #7 seed in the Sun Belt Conference.
