Growing up, the NFL is every little kids dream. That dream just got one step closer for a group of former Cajuns.

UL hosted NFL Pro Timing Day today at the Cajuns' practice facilily. Among others, former Cajun greats Tyrell Fenroy, Michael Desormeaux and Jason Chery showed off their skills to a swarm of NFL scouts looking to find the next draft day gem.

Chery looked impressive in his 40-yard dash and caught everything that was thrown his way.

Desormeaux, a former quarterback, ran defensive back, kick return and wide receiver drills hoping to prove to the nearly two dozen scouts in attendance that he's an all-around good athlete.

Fenroy showed up chisled and ready to impress. The running back looked nimble around the cones and quick on his feet. He did drop a few passes out of the backfield but more than made up for it with his showing in the 40.

Official sprint times have not been released yet but indications from Cajuns coaches were that Fenroy ran in the 4.5-to-4.6 range in the 40-yard dash with Chery flying even faster than that.

The workouts were a chance for these guys to catch the eyes of a few scouts. All three visited with team reps after their workouts and all three are hopeful to catch on with a pro team. April 25th is day one of this year's NFL draft.
