Law enforcement agencies say they are overwhelmed with the amount of criminal evidence they have been forced to store.
However, a new bill could help change that.
The proposed law would allow agencies to get rid of unclaimed property collected from criminal investigations or let them sell it for extra cash.
This would clear up some space and pull in revenue for the office.
At one Louisiana sheriff's office there are at least four rooms full of unclaimed property.
Detectives say they are adding new evidence into one of those rooms nearly every day and there is just no more room.
