Louisiana hospitals in the "red zone"
The economy may have an effect on some services at nearby hospitals.
The Louisiana Hospital Association released a report earlier this week that says most of Louisiana hospitals are in the red.
Due to budget cuts from the Medicare and Medicaid on the state level, some hospital jobs are being cut.
The president of the Louisiana Hospital Association John Matessino says hospitals can not run without the money from Medicare and Medicaid, saying hospitals are vital to the economy.
He says the cuts were annouced in June, but they won't take effect unitl October 1.
