NFL Draft Claims 2 Ragin’ Cajuns

Both University of Louisiana Draft prospects, defensive back, Dwight Bentley, and tight end, Ladarius Green were selected in the 77th annual draft this past weekend.
The Detroit Lions selected Bentley with the 22nd pick in the 3rd round, and 85th overall. The Lions had eight total picks in this year’s draft; they took six defensive players, with Bentley being their first defensive pick. Dwight joins an up and coming Lions defense, anchored by one of the best defensive tackles in the NFL today, rookie sensation, Ndamukong Suh.
The San Diego Chargers selected Green with the 15th pick in the 4th round, and 110th overall. The Chargers had seven total picks in the 77th annual draft; they took four offensive players, with Ladarius being their first offensive pick. The former Cajun phenom will have an opportunity to learn under one of the best tight ends in NFL history, nine-year veteran Antonio Gates.
