UL's quarterbacks coach talks about this year's crop of Cajun passers

Nobody would have blamed Jorge Munoz if after wrapping up his first season as the Cajuns' QB coach last fall, he immediately broke down in tears. After all, 2,000 yards of offense was walking out the locker room doors forever.

Michael Desormeaux won't be wearing Cajuns vermillion and white in September. That means somebody else needs to step up and take over as the starting quarterback for this team.

That answer could be as easy as randomly picking any one of the five QBs on this year's spring roster and plugging them in to the lineup with a firm pat on the back and a shaky "Go get 'em".

...Or it can be as strenuous as critiquing every play from this spring and narrowing the candidates down to the best choice. I have an idea that this is the answer Munoz will opt for.

Head Coach Rickey Bustle says he wants to see competition but so far Brad McGuire is the Cajuns' top option. The sophomore has the most experience and earned a lot of respect in the locker room last season when he stepped up for an injured Desormeaux.

Coach Munoz talks about how to replace Desormeaux and find the right answer under center this season.
