The song says "They wish they all could be California giiiiiiiiiiirls..."

But lets be honest. Right now, any of the teams in this weekend's Judi Garman Classic out in Fullerton, Calif. would LOVE to be playing softball like the girls from Louisiana.

UL swept Louisiana Tech Tuesday afternoon at Lamson Park extending their win streak to 12 games. UL took both ends of a doubleheader.

In game one, Donna Bourgeois did her thing. She threw a complete game shutout and struck out 8. The Cajuns won 8-0 in 5 innings.

Game two was a bit more interesting. It took UL nine innings to put away the Lady Techsters but UL got a clutch RBI from Melissa Verde late and walked away 3-2 winners. Sophomore pitcher Ashley Brignac tossed 7 solid innings allowing two unearned runs and only five hits. She also K'd a career-high 16 hitters. Donna Bourgeois came in for two innings of relief and picked up the win.

Next up, the Cajuns travel to California to take on some big time teams.
