Procrastinators nationwide get 2 extra days to file their taxes which are due tomorrow.
The extra time is thanks to the fifteenth falling on a weekend and because Emancipation Day is today.
For those who don't know Emancipation Day is a holiday in Washington D.C.
If you are going to go down to the wire and aren't e-filing remember your tax returns have to be postmarked by midnight tomorrow.
However not all post offices will be open that late.
As Muhlbaum says,
"if you do have to pay, it is important to file even if you can't pay in full. because that can postpone the penalties. so do do do get an extension, and do pay what you can."
Attention fellow drivers, if you are in a rush to file, take extra care on the roads because a new study finds traffic fatalites rise an average of 6 percent on tax day.
That's about the same spike as on Super Bowl Sunday.
