More personal information could be put on display on Louisiana drivers licenses.
State Representative Rickey Hardy is proposing a bill that would require convicted drug offenders to show their crimes.
Under the proposed law, an orange sticker labeled "drug offender" would be stamped on the licenses of anyone convicted of a second drug offense.
The label would remain on the card for eight years.
Hardy says it gives police a "heads up" when they pull a driver over on the road.
The bill has passed the House Transportation Committee and heads to the Criminal Justice Committee next week.
