Many residents of Acadiana are still cleaning up after flooding rains last week.
a week ago today the major rain event that soaked the Acadiana area and even washed out streets and neighborhoods.
Today the Lafayette City Parish Council approved two ordinances that'll start the process of removing debris.
Some Fema regulations have slowed the process but the good news is trash will be moved.
"This is not about going into a home, this is about picking up trash at the street just like you would for a hurricane. they can't go onto private property to do anything, they can only stay on the street, pick up those wet mattress' and sofa's and carpeting and things like that, that had to all be ripped out and is now out there just causing problems "
Fox 15 Meteorologist Chris Paulsen says a lot more rain is possible by the middle of this week.
