After 8 months on the run a Lafayette Parish escapee has been captured in Las Vegas.
 

Deputies tell us Marcus Dupuis had 2 years left on a marijuana possession conviction when he slipped away from the minimum security facility in downtown Lafayette.

We're told law enforcement in Lyon County Nevada recognized the fugitive at a truck stop.

Dupuis will also face simple escape charges now.
