Louisiana Tournament Now At Halfway Mark

Friday, March 23, 2012 - 7:20pm

The weather is perfect for golf and that's exactly what's going on at Le Triomphe.

The golf tourney is a win for Acadiana every year the Louisiana open comes to town.

The PGA sponsored tour awards money to the winning pro's.

Area charities that volunteer on the course take home about 300 thousand dollars annually.

"Every stop gives a lot of money back, but we're really proud of what we're able to do here in such a small market. i mean we are in the second smallest market in this store, but we, you know, we make a lot of difference around town. no doubt, we spread out around twenty something charities and they come out and work for it. i mean, you know, we're not just handing out money, but they're doing the work so we couldn't do a term without them actually. "

The tournament's now at the half way point and the field of golfers will be cut to sixty.
