Two Jamaicans Busted With Drugs In Saint Martin Parish

Two Jamaican men are in the Saint Martin Parish Jail after state troopers busted them with nearly 850 pounds of marijuana.

That much weed has an estimated street value of two million dollars.

State troopers pulled over a big rig just before six this morning in Saint Martin Parish.

During the traffic stop, troopers say they became suspicious of the cargo inside.

and tell us they found all the drugs under sacks of onions.

"My philosophy has been since day one, look beyond a stop, look beyond a speeding ticket, look beyond a traffic stop and this is the outcome, what you see behind me. 850 pounds of marijuana, $2 million dollars worth. let this be known and send a message to all criminals, within the nation. if you get stopped along I-10 and you're traveling with drugs, we are going to seize your drugs and we are going to put you in jail. "

33 year old Anthony Senior and 29 year old Damian Jarrett both of Kingston, Jamaica were arrested for possession with intent to distribute marijuana.
