Good news for Acadiana tonight as 125 more jobs will be coming to the area.
Governor Bobby Jindal came to the Cade Community Center in St.Martin Parish today to announce a huge expansion of the Forum Energy Technology Company.
The Forum Company has a long history of manufacturing oil-field equipment now they will be able to produce onshore and offshore drilling equipment for global customers all for a price tag of about 19 million dollars.
The 150 thousand square foot facility helps to make Louisiana one of only two states in the south with more jobs now than they had before the national recession.
The company currently employs a little more than 200 employees at their plant in St.Martin Parish.
The 19 million dollar expansion in Cade will begin soon and they are looking at wrapping up by the fourth quarter of next year.
Hiring for the 125 new positions will begin before the end of this year.
