25i banned in Louisiana after being linked to death at music festival

 An emergency ban has been placed on a new synthetic chemical that is said to be responsible for the death of a young man.

The Louisiana State Police and legislators held a press conference this morning regarding the chemical 25i. They say a young man took the legal drug while attending the annual Voodoo Music Festival in New Orleans.

Officials say the substance is responsible for at least five deaths nationwide.

The synthetic chemical is not sold at local stores. Officials say it is only available for purchase online. It is mainly being produced in China and India.
