Area law enforcement agencies are asking anyone with information on Deputy Bares' murder to come forward.  They're still investigating and they say if you saw or heard anything, even if it seems minor, it could be a major clue for investigators.

"He's a person just like every single one of you.  Deputy Allen Bares Jr. is a person, his job was that of a police officer, of a sheriff's deputy.  He died doing his job.  What we're asking you, what we're begging you for is to come forward if you have that information.  Don't remain silent anymore.  Silence is the only thing that is going to lead to the furtherance of other crimes being committed," says Trooper Stephen Hammons, State Police Troop I.

If you have information that you think could help investigators call Abbeville Police at 337-893-2511, or 911.  Vermilion parish law enforcement agencies tell us there are quite a few unsolved violent crimes they are still investigating, and they're looking for public cooperation to get those criminals in jail.
