Armed Robbery Suspect Caught by Lafayette Police

Lafayette Police Apprehended Dylan Alfred suspect of recent armed robberies in city of Lafayette

This morning Lafayette Police apprehended Dylan Alfred, the suspect linked to recent armed robberies in the City of Lafayette. 

Police responded to a parking lot in the 4500 block of Johnston Street regarding a purse snatching incident. According to the victim she had parked her vehicle and was exiting when a black male approached her asking for the time.  When the victim looked down the suspect grabbed her purse and pushed her to the ground. He climbed into a silver van and fled the area. Later, after the incident, the suspect was observed operating the van in the area of Ambassador Caffrey Parkway and Ridge Road. 

After a short pursuit the van stopped and Dylan Alfred was then apprehended. 

Alfred has been transported to the Lafayette Police Department and is currently being interviewed by detectives. The investigation remains ongoing.
