An employee of a local armored car company was arrested by Caddo sheriff's deputies for stealing a $60,000 deposit bag, said Sheriff Steve Prator.

Robert S. Posey, 34, of Waskom, Texas is accused of stealing $60,000 while employed as an armored service technician for Loomis Armored U.S. Posey took the deposit bag after seeing a discrepancy on an inventory log. The log showed that one of the bags received had not been reported.

Caddo Sheriff’s Detective Doug Smith investigated the case and said that Posey admitted to the $60,000 theft along with two additional deposit bag thefts which occurred in Bossier. Posey then led Caddo and Bossier detectives to a home in Bossier City, where they were able to recover just over $65,000 in cash. Smith said a portion of the cash had been partially burned. Detectives learned that Posey had initially hidden the money in an oven, where some of the money later caught fire after the stove had been used.

Robert Posey was arrested for felony theft and booked into the Caddo Correctional Center.
