Ascension Parish hit hard by Hurricane Isaac

In Ascension Parish people are are trying to get back to normal after Isaac ripped through the area.
Flooding is still a problem in the Tullier neighboorhood off of La 70. But it's an isolated area now.

Ascension Parish President Tommy Martinez says, about 215 homes throughout the Parish were damaged by wind and 18 homes were flooded a number they expect will rise to nearly 50.

Still he says he's pleased with the Parish's response to the storm.
the Red Cross shelter at the Lamar Dixon Expo center in Ascension Parish is still housing nearly 200 residents.

The majority of them are from surrounding St. John The Baptist Parish.
