Assumption Parish Clean Up On Hold
In Assumption Parish clean up operations at the sinkhole are on hold tonight after two workers had to be rescued from the sinkhole.
The office of emergency preparedness reports about fifty feet of property fell into that sinkhole this morning.
Two cleanup workers had to be rescued by airboat after their boat fell into the hole.
However there is some good news in Assumption Parish.
People who live in Bayou Corne and have been affected by the evacuation order, will be getting some financial help soon.
Sources say a check in for 875 dollars a week will be issued to a representative of each household who submits a Louisiana Driver's License or other i-d confirming residence in the evacuation zone.
The company overseeing the fund will be working out of the Assumption Parish Sheriff's office substation in Pierre Part, beginning tomorrow.
