UVERSE has seen success in other areas of the country where the service is already available and they have the numbers to prove it. AT&T's latest service now accounts for 62% of their wireline services, which is an increase from 52% in 2013.
As many may remember Lafayette Utility Service launched it's own fiber optic services in 2009 which was received very well by the community but this will be the first official competitor for LUS since it's introduction to Lafayette.
AT&T Director of Sales, Robert Sellman, says UVERSE TV does not operate like traditional cable, but communicates closer to that of internet.
"UVERSE is delivered using internet protocol, or in other words, the language that the internet speaks. What this allows us to do is to weave in features of computing, features that you would normally find in computers." said Sellman.
"It also gives us a tremendous amount of speed and responsiveness. It also really helps with the amount of video compression that we have to do. The net result of all of that is that it gives you exceptional picture quality both in standard definition and in high definition."
