Authorities searching for Lafayette armed robbery suspect

Lafayette Police are looking for a man that robbed a Family Dollar on July 28.

At around 9:00 pm, Lafayette Police responded to an armed robbery located in the 4300 block of Moss Street. The store's clerk said that the suspect entered the store with a handgun and demanded money.

The suspect fled the store on foot with an undisclosed amount of money. The clerk was not injured during the robbery.

The suspect is described as a black male approximately 5’5” to 5’9”tall, and was wearing a red baseball cap, sunglasses, a bandanna covering his face, a dark colored short sleeve shirt, light colored pants and white tennis shoes.

Detectives are asking anyone with information about the robbery or the identity of the suspect to contact Lafayette Police or Crime Stoppers at 337-232-TIPS.
