Back-to-school week in south Louisiana!

Monday, August 6, 2012 - 4:00pm

Well it's back-to-school week all across south Louisiana. While kids in St. Helena Parish went back to school today, most everyone else will be in class by the end of the week.

School starts Wednesday for kids in East Baton Rouge and Ascension schools as well as the Recovery School District.

In East Baton Rouge Parish a phone line set up to inform parents about bus routes is ringing off the hook! The system has been in place since late last week and it'll stay in operation until August 17. A spokesperson for the school system says so far the system has gotten lots of positive feedback.

On Thursday, Livingston Parish, Zachary, Baker, Assumption, and Tangiaphoa parish school systems start up again.

Then, on Friday, children in Iberville, West Baton Rouge, Pointe Coupee, and West Feliciana Parish school systems head back to class.

Kids in the Central community school system start again next Monday.

We want to see your back-to-school pictures! If you’re located in one of the parishes listed above, we want to see your pictures for the first day back at school. Email us at news@nbc33tv.com, or download the WVLA NBC33 mobile app and send them directly to us through your smart phone.
