A second person has been arrested for his allegedly involvement in the case of a Eunice man who was found dead in Lafayette.

The Lafayette Police Department has arrested Travis Toups for Accessory After the Face to Second-Degree Murder. Travis is the brother of Kyle Toups, 26, of Carencro, who was arrested for allegedly stabbing Michael Luke Darby, 24.

On Monday, Oct. 15, Darby’s body was discovered behind a shrub next to a local business on Polk Street in Lafayette. Friends of Darby told investigators they had gone with Darby out in Lafayette the night before, but lost track of him and were unable to find him.

Investigators learned that Darby became involved in a conflict that night with Kyle. At some point during the altercation Kyle allegedly pulled out a knife and stabbed Darby, who died as a result of that injury.
We’re told this investigation is still open.
