July 3, 2014 — The City of Broussard has been cited for a second year in arrow by the Environmental Protection Agency for inadequate monitoring of drinking water. We caught up with Broussard spokesperson, Amy Jones who says that Broussard is taking proactive steps in order to address their residents concerns.
"Basically all the safeguards have been put in place to make sure that all proper monitoring moving forward with the EPA is in place, and that there won't be any repeat of missing any tests." said Amy Jones.
"It is also important to note though that during this entire period that EPA's citing that the city of Broussard has gone above and beyond doing their own monthly bacterial tests, of which during that period of time theres not been incident that's been cited for any problems with the Broussard water system."
City officials say they have looked into the situation and have put all of the proper safe guards in place to make sure that the City of Broussard is completely compliant with all EPA testing moving forward.
