There's no football and no basketball right now but there is Cane Cutter baseball. The team in lafayette is made up of college players from schools like LSU, Alabama, Southern Miss, McNeese State, Texas A&M. They play in the six team Texas Collegiate League using wooden bats instead of the aluminum bats used in college games.

The team is called the Acadiana Cane Cutters, now in their fourth year of organized amateur baseball. Fun times and baseball as the Cane Cutters will be back home for a game at Fabacher field on Saturday vs. the Victoria Generals at 7p. Right before the game will be the popular promotion called "the diamond dig", where 40 fans will have a chance to dig in the infield for a diamond necklace from Paul's Jewelry.
