July 3, 2014 — A local favorite in downtown Lafayette celebrated it's three year anniversary today. Carpe Diem, Lafayette's favorite gelato spot invited all to join in the ribbon cutting with the Greater Lafayette Chamber of Commerce today in celebration of all the success they have had over the past three years.
Owner Silvia Bertolazzi said, "I grew up with gelato and so I've been eating it every time, I mean I lived in Italy for a long time so it was my way of life. I ate gelato every day, and when I came to America, especially Lafayette there was no gelato and every time I went home once a year I got to eat it there. I was craving it so much so one day I said, I want to eat it every day, I have to have my own shop. So I made my own shop!"
"Today we are celebrating three years in business at Carpe Diem with our owner Silvia Bertolazzi and Erik Gravenson. The Chamber honors these occasions with ribbon cutting, so we brought the Chamber out and we invited all of downtown." said marketing director Rick Rowan.
All in attendance were able to enjoy a free sample of Carpe Diem's newest flavor which is blueberry and lemon to represent the colors of blue and yellow in the Greater Lafayette Chamber of Commerce logo.
