The Community Foundation of Acadiana holds their third annual Leaders in Philanthropy Awards luncheon
Keynote speaker Roy Spence shares his philosophies of giving and purpose in life
LAFAYETTE, LA (KADN) — Today the Community Foundation of Acadiana held their third annual Leaders in Philanthropy Awards luncheon. The CFA presented a Leaders in Philanthropy Award to eight outstanding philanthropists in each of the eight parishes in it's service area. The signature event featured keynote speaker Roy Spence, whose mantra in life is "don't do it mild" in work or life, follow your dreams, follow your passion and follow your purpose.
"Charity is really about passing it forward that's all it is. We're suppose to leave the place better than we found it and this organization is about that. This is the energy of life corridor in the country, and you can feel it," says Roy Spence, CEO of The Purpose Institute, co-founder & chairman of GSD&M.
Spence has spent his life discovering purpose in organizations and people lives, and he spent his time here in Lafayette sharing his thoughts on the purpose of life and the importance of giving.
