December 1: Last day for early voting

Friday, November 30, 2012 - 2:30pm

Secretary of State Tom Schedler reminds everyone that tomorrow, Saturday, Dec. 1, 2012, is the last day to cast an early vote in the December 8 General/Congressional Election. Early voting is available in 46 of 64 parishes from 8:30 a.m. - 6:00 p.m. Citizens who want to vote early may do so in person at their parish Registrar of Voters’ Office or at other designated locations.

“Turnout for early voting has been extremely light compared to the Presidential Election last month,” reports Secretary Schedler. “We anticipate high turnouts in some areas of the state that have important runoff elections, but overall the December 8 election has not driven voters to get out early.”
