Off duty Shreveport officer robbed at gunpoint
SHREVEPORT, LA — Shreveport authorities are investigating the robbery of an off duty officer that happened Sunday night.
At around 12:15 a.m., the officer, who works in an undercover capacity, advised authorities that he was driving in the 1700 block of Line Avenue when he pulled over to use a nearby ATM. The officer stated that while he was retrieving his wallet from the trunk of a city owned vehicle, he was approached by two males, one of whom was armed with a hand gun. The officer said that one of the suspects rummaged through his car while the other suspect, holding him at gunpoint, demanded money. The officer was subsequently robbed of an undisclosed amount of money along with a departmental issued hand gun.
Detectives have recovered surveillance video from the scene and interviewed potential witnesses. The suspects were last seen driving a black four door Saturn heading east bound on Herdon Street. The officer, who was not injured in the robbery, described both suspects as black males, both five feet four inches to five feet six inches tall, thin build with low hair cuts. The investigation into this robbery is ongoing at this time as detectives seek to identify and apprehend the suspects.
