A woman’s boyfriend was arrested after he allegedly punched her and her two children, causing a bruise on the head of one, and a bloody nose to the other.

The Eunice Police Department reports that the incident occurred on Tuesday, Oct. 30 at roughly 9:00 p.m. Officers were called to a home located on the 1500 block of Dudley Street for reports of a domestic disturbance.

When officers arrived a 25-year-old woman told officers that her boyfriend, David Rideau, 24, had physically hit both her son and daughter. She said the two had been engaged in an argument prior to the physical attack.

Officers noted that the 5-year-old girl had a bruise on her head and the 4-year-old boy was bleeding from his nose. Rideau allegedly attacked his girlfriend as well, striking her several times with his fists.

Rideau fled the scene before officers arrived. However, he turned himself in at the Eunice Police Department at roughly 11:00 p.m.

Rideau was booked for one count of Domestic Abuse Battery and two counts of Cruelty to a Juvenile. His bond was set at $7,500.
